Footpaths Our footpath map contains over 100,000 miles of footpaths across England and Wales. No matter if youβre hiking, rambling, or walking, our map can help you find new, exciting routes.
Our map shows all of the footpaths, bridleways, and byways in England and Wales. The different colours correspond to the different types of path. You can use the map to find a route that is right for you, depending on your chosen activity.
Footpaths are paths that can only be used by pedestrians, whereas bridleways can be used by pedestrians, cyclists, and horse riders. On the other hand, byways are more variable, and in some instances can be used by all types of vehicles, including 4x4s.

Bridleways With ever-increasing road traffic, finding safe horse riding routes can be challenging. However, our bridleway map lists more paths than even Ordnance Survey, ensuring you have the best hack, ride, or walk possible.
Byways Our map includes byway information (including BOATs). Although less common than footpaths and bridleways, they offer much greater freedom, and in some cases can even be used for “green laning”.
